Description

Yukatan Multicolor is a 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile from Centura’s Yukatan range. It carries an organic, unrepeated face and the layered, cleft face of slate, finished with a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Piece-to-piece variation is graded V4, a wide spread where individual pieces differ markedly, so the tile should be dry-laid from several boxes before it is set. The 12″ x 24″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. The slip rating is R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. The body is frost resistant, which opens up porches, garages, balconies and other areas that drop below freezing. Floor and wall use are both covered, useful where a feature wall and the floor beneath it need to match exactly. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 10 mm. For a colour match, Centura specifies grout 947 – Light Bronze. One box contains 6 pieces, enough for 11.51 sq ft, or 1.9175 sq ft a piece.
