Centura lists ReStone Safari in the ReStone range: a 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile. Centura gives it a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Centura rates shade variation at V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. At 12″ x 24″, it covers ground with fewer grout lines than a small format, which keeps a room reading as one surface. The slip rating is R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. Frost resistance means it can be laid outdoors or in an unheated space without spalling through a freeze-thaw cycle. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 8 mm. For a colour match, Centura specifies grout 949 – Silverado. One box contains 7 pieces, enough for 13.21 sq ft, or 1.8871 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
