ReStone Icelandic belongs to Centura’s ReStone range and measures 24″ x 48″. Centura gives it a brushed face with fine directional texture. Shade variation is rated V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The 24″ x 48″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. Underfoot it is rated R9, the rating for dry interior floors. Frost resistance means it can be laid outdoors or in an unheated space without spalling through a freeze-thaw cycle. Centura rates it for floors and walls, so one tile can carry a shower wall down onto the floor with no change of material. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so it sets with a joint of roughly 2 to 3 mm over a flat substrate. The body measures 8 mm. Centura matches it to grout 939 – Mist.
