ReStone Dune is a 24″ x 48″ porcelain tile from Centura’s ReStone range. Centura gives it a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Expect variation of V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The 24″ x 48″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. Centura tests it at R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. Frost resistance means it can be laid outdoors or in an unheated space without spalling through a freeze-thaw cycle. Floor and wall use are both covered, useful where a feature wall and the floor beneath it need to match exactly. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 8 mm. For a colour match, Centura specifies grout 949 – Silverado. It ships 2 pieces to a box, covering 15.38 sq ft, or 7.6923 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
