Centura lists Piacentina Grey in the Piacentina range: a 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile. It is finished with a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Shade variation is rated V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The 12″ x 24″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. The slip rating is R9, the rating for dry interior floors. Because it is frost resistant, it can carry an interior floor out onto a covered patio or three-season room. It is approved for floor and wall installation, so wall and floor areas of the same room can be tiled from one order. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 8.5 mm. Centura matches it to grout 939 – Mist. One box contains 6 pieces, enough for 11.96 sq ft, or 1.9932 sq ft a piece.
