Piacentina Dark Grey belongs to Centura’s Piacentina range and measures 12″ x 24″. The surface is a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Centura rates shade variation at V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. A 12″ x 24″ tile lays up quickly and leaves less grout to keep clean. The slip rating is R9, the rating for dry interior floors. Frost resistance means it can be laid outdoors or in an unheated space without spalling through a freeze-thaw cycle. It is approved for floor and wall installation, so wall and floor areas of the same room can be tiled from one order. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so it sets with a joint of roughly 2 to 3 mm over a flat substrate. The body measures 8.5 mm. Centura matches it to grout 927 – Light Pewter.
