Nolita Charcoal is a 2″ x 18″ ceramic tile from Centura’s Nolita range. It carries the irregular face of fired brick, finished with a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Piece-to-piece variation is graded V4, a wide spread where individual pieces differ markedly, so the tile should be dry-laid from several boxes before it is set. Underfoot it is rated R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. Because it is frost resistant, it can carry an interior floor out onto a covered patio or three-season room. Floor use is what Centura rates it for in residential and commercial settings. Edges are cushioned, not rectified, which means a wider joint and more tolerance for an uneven substrate. The body measures 9.5 mm. Centura matches it to grout 929 Charcoal Gray. One box contains 32 pieces, enough for 6.81 sq ft, or 0.2127 sq ft a piece.
