Hex XL Ecostone Venato White is a 12″ x 12″ mosaic from Centura’s Hex XL Ecostone range. It is finished with a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Expect variation of V4, a wide spread where individual pieces differ markedly, so the tile should be dry-laid from several boxes before it is set. The hexagon format breaks up the grid a square or rectangular tile would give you. The slip rating is R11, enough grip for consistently wet areas including shower floors, pool surrounds and covered patios. It is frost resistant, so it holds up in unheated garages, porches and exterior work where the tile will freeze and thaw. It is approved for floor and wall installation, so wall and floor areas of the same room can be tiled from one order. Edges are cushioned, not rectified, which means a wider joint and more tolerance for an uneven substrate. The body measures 5.3 mm. Centura matches it to grout 949 – Silverado. Boxes hold 6 pieces and cover 5.24 sq ft, or 0.8734 sq ft a piece.
