Centura Glocal Youth Natural Porcelain 12″ x 24″

Glocal Youth is a 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile from Centura’s Glocal range. It carries the flat, faintly mottled face of poured concrete, finished with a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Centura rates shade variation at V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The 12″ x 24″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. Centura tests it at R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. It is frost resistant, so it holds up in unheated garages, porches and exterior work where the tile will freeze and thaw. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so it sets with a joint of roughly 2 to 3 mm over a flat substrate. The body measures 9 mm. For a colour match, Centura specifies grout 903 – Birch. It ships 7 pieces to a box, covering 13.56 sq ft, or 1.9376 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
