Centura lists Glocal Lumina in the Glocal range: a 24″ x 24″ porcelain tile. It carries the flat, faintly mottled face of poured concrete, finished with a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Shade variation is rated V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. A 24″ x 24″ tile lays up quickly and leaves less grout to keep clean. Centura tests it at R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. Frost resistance means it can be laid outdoors or in an unheated space without spalling through a freeze-thaw cycle. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 9 mm. The suggested grout is 939 – Mist. It ships 3 pieces to a box, covering 11.51 sq ft, or 3.8358 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
