Glocal Ideal is a 24″ x 48″ porcelain tile from Centura’s Glocal range. It carries the flat, faintly mottled face of poured concrete, finished with a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Piece-to-piece variation is graded V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The 24″ x 48″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. The slip rating is R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. Because it is frost resistant, it can carry an interior floor out onto a covered patio or three-season room. The 20 mm body is thick enough for exterior paving, including pedestal systems over a flat roof or deck. It is approved for floor and wall installation, so wall and floor areas of the same room can be tiled from one order. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. For a colour match, Centura specifies grout 939 – Mist. Boxes hold 1 pieces and cover 7.75 sq ft, or 7.7519 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
