Centura lists Glocal Ideal in the Glocal range: a 24″ x 24″ porcelain tile. It carries the flat, faintly mottled face of poured concrete, finished with a natural finish, left close to how the tile leaves the press. Centura rates shade variation at V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. A 24″ x 24″ tile lays up quickly and leaves less grout to keep clean. Centura tests it at R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. The body is frost resistant, which opens up porches, garages, balconies and other areas that drop below freezing. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. The edges are rectified, cut square after firing, so it sets with a joint of roughly 2 to 3 mm over a flat substrate. The body measures 9 mm. The suggested grout is 939 – Mist. One box contains 3 pieces, enough for 11.51 sq ft, or 3.8358 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
