Centura lists Dorset Taupe in the Dorset range: a 12″ x 24″ porcelain tile. Centura gives it a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Piece-to-piece variation is graded V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The 12″ x 24″ format means fewer joints across a floor, so the eye is not pulled to a grid. Centura tests it at R9, the rating for dry interior floors. The body is frost resistant, which opens up porches, garages, balconies and other areas that drop below freezing. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. Because the edges are rectified, the grout joint can close to around 2 to 3 mm and the layout reads almost seamless. The body measures 9.5 mm. Centura matches it to grout 903 – Birch. One box contains 7 pieces, enough for 13.46 sq ft, or 1.9227 sq ft a piece.
