Dorset Gris belongs to Centura’s Dorset range and measures 24″ x 48″. Centura gives it a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Shade variation is rated V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. A 24″ x 48″ tile lays up quickly and leaves less grout to keep clean. Underfoot it is rated R9, the rating for dry interior floors. Frost resistance means it can be laid outdoors or in an unheated space without spalling through a freeze-thaw cycle. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 9 mm. The suggested grout is 949 – Silverado. One box contains 2 pieces, enough for 15.5 sq ft, or 7.7519 sq ft a piece.
