Cortina Tobacco belongs to Centura’s Cortina range and measures 8.5″ x 10″. The surface is a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Shade variation is rated V4, a wide spread where individual pieces differ markedly, so the tile should be dry-laid from several boxes before it is set. The hexagon format breaks up the grid a square or rectangular tile would give you. The slip rating is R10, which covers floors that see occasional water such as kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls. Because it is frost resistant, it can carry an interior floor out onto a covered patio or three-season room. The rating covers both floors and walls, which lets a bathroom or kitchen run the same surface vertically and horizontally. Rectified edges mean the tile is cut square after firing and will take a tight 2 to 3 mm joint, provided the substrate is flat. The body measures 9 mm. The suggested grout is 935 – Silhouette. It ships 29 pieces to a box, covering 13.06 sq ft, or 0.4505 sq ft a piece. It contains recycled content, which can count toward LEED material credits on a certified project.
