Centura lists Chamonix Dark Gray in the Chamonix range: a 12″ x 12″ porcelain tile. It is finished with a matte surface that holds light rather than throwing it back. Centura rates shade variation at V2, a slight shift in tone between pieces that keeps the surface from looking printed. The body is frost resistant, which opens up porches, garages, balconies and other areas that drop below freezing. Centura rates it for floors and walls, so one tile can carry a shower wall down onto the floor with no change of material. Edges are cushioned, not rectified, which means a wider joint and more tolerance for an uneven substrate. The body measures 8.5 mm. For a colour match, Centura specifies grout 929 – Charcoal Grey. It ships 10 pieces to a box, covering 9.7 sq ft, or 0.97 sq ft a piece.
